Generalist management programme

This new UK wide graduate scheme aims to develop you into a management position after two years.  Over that time you will experience placements in a number of our UK businesses, which range from large to small in size and operate in both regulated and deregulated environments.  This sheer variety will allow you to experience very different business models, organisational cultures and commercial operations.  You may even get the chance to learn how to drive a bus or be a Customer Assistant on a London Routemaster!  Whatever you do, from day one you will be contributing to our success doing work of real value.

Throughout the two year programme you will have the support of a mentor – a senior manager in the Group – and have on-going management skills training and personal development.  You will also complete group project and dissertation and study for an occupational health and safety qualification (NEBOSH).

As you come to the successful end of your programme, we will work with you to find the right permanent role in our business, helping to build on your strengths and provide further career development.

Engineering programme

Much of your programme will be similar to the generalist management programme.  However as an engineer, you will also get a chance to put on some overalls and get your hands dirty!

You will work with frontline engineers on routine maintenance and find out more about the supervisory and management roles within engineering.  You will learn how we set and maintain high quality standards in a high risk regulated environment.

Why join us?

Transport is a unique and varied industry.  You will never have one day the same as another.  Our placements will be interesting and challenging – there may even be the chance for an international placement in an RATP Dev subsidiary abroad. After two years you will have acquired the competencies and confidence to move into a management role.  You could be in charge of a large team of operational staff, be responsible for a multi-million business or heading up a key department.

About you

You will be positive, resilient and keen to learn.  The projects and placements will vary according to business needs, so you’ll need to be open to change, flexible and adaptable.  The placements could be in any of our seven businesses so you will need to be willing to re-locate periodically during the programme.
